First Week in Demonstration
School of VRU
Tuesday, 6th August 2019
Today, All of us met Miss Nina and Miss Nit at 8am to
the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University Demonstration School.
We are going to the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University Demonstration
School together and in school we were introduced to
Ms. Nitnoy in the library. In the library we talked about class
division of each of us. Dea and Novia Indri in
elementary school, I and Fierda in Junior High
School, Novia Tegar and Yasmin in senior high school.
I got the grade 7 to teach general science major.
After that, we waited for more information in library while on the books of
existing science. At 11.00 less, Miss. Nitnoy invited us food center for lunch,
then at 12.00 we returned to the library. In the library sometimes meet with
students. Finally, we return to the guest house at 15.30 and back again to the
next day at 07.30 to meet Teacher Adam.
Wednesday, 7th August 2019
Wednesday, we leave early for school and head straight to the library
before 7:30. After that, we met Ms. Nitnoy. He invited us to meet Teacher Adam in his office. Teacher Adam is
very friendly to us. We were invited to a meeting room at the school.
He gives us an explanation of the things that are needed by us during
teaching practice. Teacher Adam distributed report papers which had to
be worked in here and
collected before we returned to Indonesia. Teacher Adam also requested that our
personal data be used as an identity card so that we could use it during
teaching practice. He also gave us classes and teaching hours. Recently, he
took our photos one by one to complete our ID cards. After that, we bought food
for lunch and returned to the guesthouse to work on the report.
Thursday,
8th August 2019
Day four in Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Thailand
This morning, 8th Augustus morning we
departed at 07.00 am from the guest house. Me, Yasmin, Novia Tegar and Fierda when we got
in school directly joined with the routine of the teacher is to give greeting
at the entrance to the school. Not only that, we also participate each morning
flag ceremony held at the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University Demonstration
School. After we finished the ceremony, we went back to the meeting room to
wait for the schedule entered in classroom observation. All us there was a
miscommunication with Teacher Adam, we think it should wait for instructions TeacherAdam, butmay be for
observation in class. Finally, my first observation at 1.30-2.20 pm in
class 1/3 and at 1/5 hours of 2:20 to 3:10 pm in the class. I was so excited,
especially when they encounter students that he would attempt communication with the
English language.
Grade
7/3 class is an Intensive English Program (IEP), students are actively answered
and said to the teacher. Media used teaching namely LCD, laptop and
microphone so that the teacher's voice to the back of the class.
Grade 7/5 class is a standard program, students tend to be active, and
the teacher must be more patient. For the 1/5 grade teacher is still the same
with the teachers who had taught in class 7/3, named Miss Sirinapa Patee. In
today's lesson 7/5 class is working on questions about the chemical and
physical changes. Because of the time only one meeting then, a matter which
will serve as a homework assignment and collected at the next meeting. Oh
yeahhh I don't own classroom observations but also with students
from Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University also made
observations, she named Nine. She was very friendly and nice. Class finished we
headed to a meeting room and I waited for my friend. As soon as my friend
finished at 4:00 pm we said goodbye to return to the guest house.
Day 5 in Thailand Friday, 9th August 2019
Early this morning, we set out the rain to school
because we were all not ready umbrella. We went straight to the school and
joined the teachers to give a greeting, then follow the flag ceremony. On this
day there are different, because the day is mother day celebration. All
teachers dressed in shades of blue, including us. Students in there that wore
blue. Uniquely here students bring snacks to share.
Oh yeah my things rarely found in Indonesia is, before
the ceremony at the start they collect their mobile phone into the box
provided. The boxes containing the mobile phone and stored in one place.
Mobile can be taken after school. A good practice so that students
can focus on learning.
Today I and my friends still classroom observation. My
observation in the classroom will be 7/6 of an hour 9.20-11.00am but because
today there is the celebration of Mother's Day, when I went to a
class, the class is empty and I finally got back to the meeting room. L
My observation in the classroom back 11.50 - 1.30pm at
7/5 class. Topics of the material on subtance matter. And my
observation again to 7/1 class at 2:20 until 4:00pm,
this time Ms. Sirinapa Patee who teaches
the subject subtance matter material. The difference,
Ms. Sirinapa Patee end of the hour took the students do
games. After hours completed my return to the guest house.
Day 6 in Thailand (Saturday, 10th August 2019)
On Saturday, I and my friends in the guest house
activities such as washing clothes, cooking rice and because on this day of
fasting Arafat, then most of us are fasting. In the afternoon, we went to the
Kong Luang market to buy dishes for iftar. Later that night, we pray Eidul Adha preparations
for the next day.
